Identify children who lack understanding of basic relational concepts and provide intervention sooner, increasing their chance of success in school. The Boehm-3 Preschool measures basic relational concepts relevant to today's preschool and early childhood curricula:
- size (tallest)
- direction (in front)
- position (nearest)
- time (before)
- quantity (some, but not all)
- classification (all)
- general (another)
Quick and easy to administer and score, the Boehm-3 Preschool has bright, colorful stimulus materials that children respond to favorably. They simply circle the correct item (of four possible options) in response to your questions.
Each concept is tested twice to determine the child's understanding across contexts. The examiner's manual includes a curriculum-based test summary, observation and intervention planning tools, a parent report form, and suggestions for modifying and adapting administration directions and testing materials for differently able children.
The Boehm-3 Preschool is standardized and normed on a nationally representative sample of more than 1,600 children. Coefficients alpha ranged from .85 to .92, and test-retest reliability coefficients ranged from .90 to .94. The test yields percentile scores, stratified by 6-month age bands.
Complete Boehm-3 Preschool includes: Examiner's Manual, Stimulus Manual, and 25 Record Forms. (2001)
